Keukenhof – The tulips garden!

Well yeah! I am in Europe 🙂

It’s been just ten days since we moved to Belgium. And I feel any one who gets an opportunity to stay even a few years in any dam country in Europe is the luckiest of all! And yeah, I am one of them. I have decided to make the most of my stay here, explore Europe and its rich heritage and cultural diversity and yeah of course write about it. In short, a few travel dairies coming along 🙂

Today’s post is about Keukenhof, the most beautiful spring garden in the world.

Keukenhof : also known as the Garden of Europe, is one of the world’s largest flower gardens. It is situated in Lisse, the Netherlands. According to the official website for the Keukenhof Park, approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares (79 acres).

Keukenhof is located in South Holland in the small town of Lisse, south of Haarlem and southwest of Amsterdam. It is accessible by bus from the train stations of Haarlem, Leiden and Schiphol. It is located in an area called the “Dune and Bulb Region“. [source: area, location and direction taken from wikipedia]

Keukenhof is open annually from mid-March to mid-May. The best time to view the tulips is around mid-April, depending on the weather.

I visited on 23th April, which comes in the best time, hence could make the most of it. Millions of tulips and daffodils made the best day around flowers. An unforgettable experience. Take a look at the pictures 🙂

My Lame photography skills couldn’t really do any justice to the place. It’s far more beautiful than what is captured in the pictures.
